WCN23-0281 KIDNEY TRANSCRIPTOMICS PATTERNS PREDICT RAPID PROGRESSION OF DIABETIC KIDNEY DISEASE
نویسندگان
چکیده
Previous cross-sectional transcriptomics studies have shown associations between kidney gene expression and concomitant function in patients with diabetic disease (DKD) as well other chronic (CKD) etiologies. However, of longitudinal design are lacking. We hypothesized that certain intra-renal patterns associated progressive glomerular filtration rate (GFR) decrease DKD may reveal important drivers prognostic factors.

Non-albuminuric Diabetic Kidney Disease in Diabetic Patients: A Review
Introduction: The constantly increasing incidence of type 2 diabetes, probably due to obesity and sedentary life, has led to the increased incidence of macro- and microvascular diabetic complications such as nephropathy. Despite the prompt efforts to develop effective treatments for diabetes and slow the progression of its complications, it is still reported as the most common cause of chronic ...
متن کاملA prospective study of multiple protein biomarkers to predict progression in diabetic chronic kidney disease.
BACKGROUND Diabetic nephropathy imposes a substantial cardiovascular and renal burden contributing to both morbidity and excess mortality. Progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in diabetes mellitus is variable, and few biomarkers are available to predict progression accurately. Identification of novel predictive biomarkers may inform clinical care and assist in the design of clinical tria...
متن کاملChronic kidney disease progression.
W hether we like it or not, nephrologists around the world have been called to action. Our mission is to attenuate the growth of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Several conditions will need to gel for us to succeed. Although we now have a better understanding of its alarming incidence and prevalence within populations, however we choose to define it, better methods are needed to identify at risk ...
متن کاملClinical predictive factors in diabetic kidney disease progression
Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) represents a major component of the health burden associated with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Recent advances have produced an explosion of 'novel' assay-based risk markers for DKD, though clinical use remains restricted. Although many patients with progressive DKD follow a classical albuminuria-based pathway, non-albuminuric DKD progression is now well recognized....

Screening for various medical conditions is believed to be cost effective when it is targeted at vulnerable or susceptible groups. This proposition, it could be argued, is no more appropriate than screening for chronic kidney disease in people with existing diabetes. The prevalence of CKD in the UK general population is probably around 6%; in patients with diabetes it’s closer to 30%.Of course,...
